Spina Bifida Association of Colorado
SBACO’s Financial Aid Reimbursement Process
SBACO is working to provide the best programs and services possible to individuals
and families in Colorado affected by Spina Bifida.
As you probably remember, under this program for 2010, SBACO constituents
received financial assistance via two processes. The first one was Direct Aid Expense Reimbursement, which was limited to $300
per family each year; and, the second one was Direct Aid from Directed Contributions.
Simplifying & Consolidating
This
year, the SBACO Board of Directors (BOD) has decided to simplify and consolidate the two previous processes. In making this
decision, they diligently considered the overall needs of SBACO constituents, weighed advice from the National SBA, and reviewed the
2010 program.
What’s Different Now?
Here’s a quick overview of the changes:
- Financial aid and assistance will be available via a single Direct Aid application process.
- The new Direct Aid reimbursement application form is available on the SBACO website or can be requested on the
message phone at 303-797-7870.
- Applications will be accepted throughout the
year until November, 2011. Up to $500 per family, per year will be available for
2011 until the BOD allocated funds are expended.
- Direct Aid expenses
include unreimbursed medical expenses and supplies, equipment costs, and Spina Bifida related
training and rehabilitation programs.
The Board of Directors is pleased to provide this expanded program and has allocated additional
funds to assist SBACO families
in need.
