Get Involved
As many of you know, our programs address many awareness-raising issues around Spina Bifida. Through hands-on actions, fundraisers, picnics, and fun events, volunteers discover the joy of contribution by showing how much they care.

Currently, we have our calendar filling up with the following events:

     A Walk 'N Roll fundraiser on May 8, 2011

A Summer Picnic on July, 2011

The Wine 'N Chocolate Event  fundraiser in Fall, 2011

The Adopt-A-Ghost event on October, 2011, which, as many of you know, is National
     Spina Bifida Awareness Month

And the ever-popular Annual Holiday Party on December, 2011—which always turns out to be
a celebration of a year well-spent in making a difference.

If any of our volunteer events for 2011 speak to you, we would love to hear from you.

In addition, we’re looking for volunteers for play groups and the newsletter.

Play Groups

We’re  looking for a volunteer to organize age appropriate play and activity groups for each group.

We’re looking for a volunteer to oversee the groups.

We’re looking for a number of volunteers for each age group so that these groups can meet locally
here in Denver, as well as across Colorado.

Here are the age group classifications:

Baby: Birth to Age 3

Kids: Age 3 to Age 9

Tweens: Age 9 to Age 13

Teens: Age 15 to Age 18

Adult: Age 18+

Newsletter

Our newsletter is produced quarterly and we have volunteer positions open for a Newsletter
Editor/Designer and a Graphic Designer (on an “as needed” basis.)

Once we get volunteers assigned, committees and /or meetings will be coordinated.

We invite parents, families, and friends—as well as anyone else touched by these issues—to help spread the word.  Everyone is encouraged to volunteer.  We have fun at these events and want to encourage as may like-hearted and like-minded folk to join us.

If you have any questions about any of the volunteer positions mentioned in this letter or would like additional information on any of our volunteer opportunities, please contact me, LaVon Birney, at (720) 937-8009 or send email inquiries to lbirney@spinabifidaco.org
