Illuminations – Resource booklets and online tips/tools for parenting a child with Spina Bifida.
Preparations – Online
tool created to give parents and clinicians transitional tips and tools to help children with Spina Bifida develop into successful
and happy adults.
Insights into Spina Bifida Magazine – SBACO can purchase subscriptions to this nationally produced magazine
that highlights what is going on in the Spina Bifida community across the country and the world, including the latest research in
Spina Bifida care, and prevention.
New Baby Welcome Basket – A basket full of baby essentials along with a list of Colorado
resources, Illuminations newborn booklet, Insights into Spina Bifida Magazine, and welcome letter from SBACO is delivered to a family
welcoming home a new baby with Spina Bifida.
Youth, Teen, Adult, and Parent Support Groups - Provided throughout the Metro Denver
and Colorado Springs.
Play Group Support – Provide volunteers statewide to organize age-appropriate play groups for children with Spina
Bifida.
Networking Parties – Held during the summer and in December. Helps bring families together.
Direct Family Assistance – Provide
financial support to families and individuals in need. Please see Direct Family Assistance tab on website for more information.
National
Conference Scholarships – To help educate families and individuals in Colorado by attending the Spina Bifida national conference.
Folic
Acid Awareness – Receive grants to do public education/outreach for folic acid throughout Colorado.
Educational Newsletters – Sent
electronically and through mail to our members to educate and generate participation through volunteerism.
